Is there anything worse than going in to feed a baby in the middle of the night and finding him wide awake, grabbing his feet and blinking up at you in the dark?
Not that I do not love these baby blues…
…just not at 2:30 in the morning.
So we went back to swaddling the last few nights and he has slept all the way through, with the exception of a couple of binky pops. I thought about what the NP said about not wanting to limit his “development and exploration” and realized that when I put him to bed, I don’t want him “developing and exploring”–I want him sleeping! He gets plenty of exploring time during the day. And also, easy for you to say, lady. You don’t have to live at my house and get up 10 times a night.
With our luck, we’ll create a new sleep problem and end up swaddling him until he gets to kindergarten. As it is, we only have one blanket that is big enough to swaddle him. We’ll be graduating to bedsheets next.
